Lidl is on West Bars roundabout towards the town centre with in walking distance, about 5 minutes. Good turnover of green grocery and other general grocery items good prices. Open from 8.30 most days until 8.00
Neil Read Butcher 37 Chatsworth Road, a good butcher on the road into town near to the Royal Oak which is on the end of Chester Street. Neil is very friendly and his meat is good quality, always willing to help. He also does a good trade in lunch time sandwiches and snacks. Open mornings until early afternoon.
Lamberellis, 7-9 Chatsworth Road once was a deli, now does Lunch time good food, sandwiches, salads and their pizzas are very good, open from morning to evening.
Chesterfield Town Centre
The Market hall has been refurbished and there are some good food suppliers there. Fresh fish and fresh and frozen shell fish and other items can be bought at a good price.
There are good vegetable stalls one on the edge of the Market Hall itself and open air stalls on the main market. Supplying good priced fresh vegetables and fruit in season.

Jacksons bakery on Low Pavement is wonderful for bread and pastries and cakes, it featured on the Hairy Bikers in 2010. They do lots of traditionally baked breads; supply a good trade in hot and cold take away pies and sandwiches.
There is a good Co-op food store on Elder Way. M&S is on the main market square.
Further afield
Chatsworth Farm Shop on the Chatsworth Estate in Pilsley, follow signs to Baslow and then to Chatsworth and turn off to the farm shop. More like a mini supermarket farm shop, supplying local meats and other produce, not cheap.
